Local Tree Care Company Maintains Industry Accreditation For 20 Years 

Owen Tree Service, Inc., a commercial and residential tree care company with locations in Attica and Pontiac, Michigan has been recognized by the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) as the first company to maintain accreditation for 20 years. The TCIA is America’s oldest and most respected tree care trade association.  

TCIA Accreditation is the only program of its kind in the tree care industry.  It is a voluntary process evaluating businesses to ensure that professional practices and standards are met by all employees that work on your property.  When you hire an accredited tree care company, you can rest assured that the organization has been checked for proper insurance, applicable licenses, reliable and ethical customer service practices, and meets strict operating standards.  A key objective for Accreditation is to help companies provide the highest levels of service to customers. 

To achieve business Accreditation, businesses undergo an extensive review of professional practices aimed at safeguarding consumers, including: 

• Consumer satisfaction 

• Best business practices 

• Formal employee training 

• Compliance with tree care industry standards 

• Adherence to safety and quality standards 

• Insurance coverage 

TCIA Accreditation is a mark of excellence and is limited to the very few companies that can pass a 63-point checklist. Since its’ inception the accreditation program has provided consumers a way to identify great tree care companies that are committed to safe tree care practices and ethical business practices. Of the more than 2400 TCIA member companies only 197 have been accredited.  

Owen Tree Service, Inc. was the first tree service in the nation to achieve TCIA accreditation, the first to receive re-accreditation with no “corrective measures” stipulated on the audit report, and now the first to maintain their accreditation for 20 years. In order to maintain accreditation, a company has to meet TCIA’s Accreditation standard at all times and undergoes a rigorous site inspection once every three years conducted by third party auditors.
