David Scott has accepted the position of General Manager at Owen Tree Service. David, an ISA Certified Arborist, has worked for Owen Tree for six years as a Lawn Care technician, Plant Health Care technician and sales arborist. He has an Associates Degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Oakland Community College. Prior to joining Owen Tree David was a general manager for 17 years for Midwest Memorial Group, a collection of cemeteries in the metro Detroit area.

Upon accepting these new responsibilities, David said “I am very humbled that I have been asked to take this position. We have a very good team of people in place and I am confident that with everyone’s help we will continue to grow this company in the proper direction. “.

The General Manager position was created to help facilitate the transition of the company from single owner to employee ownership through an Employee Stock Option Plan. Randy Owen, the owner of Owen Tree Service, said, “We have many quality, hardworking and knowledgeable employees at Owen Tree that, I believe, can carry the company forward. An ESOP plan will be the best means for me to assure that current and future employees will have a secure future”.

Josh Cook has been promoted to the position of sales arborist. Josh started with Owen Tree in early 2019, but has been in the tree care industry for 26 years. His depth of knowledge trimming, removing and spraying trees, in combination with his ISA Certified Arborist credential, will be an asset to northwest Oakland County residents that count on Owen Tree to maintain their property in tip-top condition.
