A Thank You! on Thanksgiving

Dear Randy, David and the entire Owen Tree Service Team,

On behalf of the Michigan Green Industry Association (MGIA), I would like to thank you for all you did to assist us with our 11th Annual Day of Service.

As you know, this year’s recipient was the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries (DRMM) Veteran’s Housing at 211 Glendale Ave in Highland Park. Over 30 companies participated in the day-long event including over 50 industry professionals all donating their time and talent completing work, such as bed cleanup, raking, tree trimming, mulching, planting and hardscaping. They also installed horseshoe pits, a fire pit, vegetable garden, apple trees, warming lamps, birdfeeders, a walking path, and a new grill in the courtyard of the building! The work took place on Saturday, November 2nd. A special flag ceremony took place for the new flag that was donated, led by the Renaissance High School ROTC to honor the veterans in attendance. The Mayor of Highland Park, Glenda McDonald, was also in attendance for the ceremony.

It was so nice seeing member companies working side-by-side for the benefit of this event and beautifying where people enjoy green spaces! The President & CEO of DRMM, the staff at 211 Glendale, and all the veteran residents were extremely grateful for the generous donations and all the work that was being completed.

Again, a special thank you for the scope of work that Owen Tree completed during the week before the event. None of this would be possible had it not been for the generosity of our members like you! Your continued support of the MGIA and everything you do for us is greatly appreciated!
